Catherine Lim
Catherine Lim grew up and Malaysia but lives and works in Singapore. An author of many collections of short stories as well as novels, she is best known for Little ironies: Short Stories of Singapore and Or Else, The Lightning God and Other Stories, both collections having been used as literature texts in the G.C.E.’ Level Examinations conducted by Cambridge University in England. One of her novels, The Serpent Tooth, has also been used as a literature text in the University of Southern Queensland, Australia.
Before she became a full-time writer, Catherine Lim was a lecturer in the Regional language Centre (RELC), Singapore, training teachers from the Southeast Asian countries in the subjects of sociolinguistics and literature teaching. She holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics.
