Haresh Sharma
Haresh Sharma is the founder member and resident playwright of The Necessary Stage. His plays include Lanterns Never Go Out, which was staged at the 1990 Singapore Festival of Arts Main Programme. He has also written other well-known works like Those Who Can’t, Teach, This Chord and Others, as well as Still Building, which was selected by the National Arts Council to represent Singapore at the 1992 Cairo International Festival for Experimental theatre, and which was staged at Mayfest, Glasgow International Arts Festival in May 1994.
Sharma continues to be actively involved in numerous playwriting workshops, forums and conferences, and was awarded the 1993 Singapore Literature Prize organized by the National Book development Council of Singapore.
