K Elangovan
Elangovan is the pioneer of Modern Tamil Poetry in Singapore. He published his first book of poems, Vizhi Thiraikku Pinnal in 1979. He writes free verse or Putu Kavitai in Tamil instead of following the traditional prosody. He has also published a bilingual collection, Transcreations, in 1988, and his short stories, poems and critical essays have appeared in English and Tamil in various publications.
