Philip Jeyaretnam
Philip Jeyaretnam graduated from Cambridge University in 1986 with First-Class Honours in Law. His first book, First Loves, describes the adventures of a young dreamer growing up in practical Singapore. His second book, Raffles Place Ragtime, is a short comic novel and satire of life in the big city.
Mr Jeyaretnam was previously on a Fulbright Fellowship to the University of Iowa International Writers’ Program and Harvard law School, and was a guest to the Melbourne Writers’ Festival. He has also been to the Cambridge Seminar courtesy of the British Council, and to Germany courtesy of Interlit 3. A prolific and talented writer, Mr Jeyaretnam was declared Young Artist of the Year for 1993 by the National Arts Council, and has published his second novel, Abraham Promise.
